My Name is Wondwossen G/Yesus. I am married and have three daughters. I know Children’s Heaven for more than 7 years. I was served the organization as a board member and I used tocome to teach life skills and some other related topics. I got my Bachelor's Degree in Electro Mechanics at the former Soviet Union Naval College. However, since 1997, my professional career has changed into social work and for about 19 years I had been involved in rehabilitating women out of prostitution as well as working with their children. Those years have given me a lot of insights about how women and children face many challenges because of poverty and the effects of HIV and AIDS.

I’ve travelled to few countries for short term counseling courses and also to share the organization rehabilitation model to some NGOs so that they could be able to develop their own program to help women & children who are affected by HIV/AIDS. I have been working in Children’s Heaven for more than a year. When I came here, I came with a dream of developing Psycho-social support program to meet emotional, cognitive and social need of children. When children are emotionally healthy they have energy to play and learn. A children’s emotional health may affect their physical health and nutrition, and the ability to learn. All of these things have a large impact on a children’s future. That is what I have learned from those women childhood stories who were in survival sex trade. So by being here I could make a difference in these girls life by providing love, care, guidance and protection along with training them cope with life challenges and difficulties. What I enjoy most working at CH is I take care of these children as if they are my own. They aren’t my flesh and blood, but I love them just the same as I love my children. I see myself as a father to all these girls. I get to play a role in their simple, joyful lives, and that’s beautiful and rewarding.
