NOW! Donation Needs: Currently, we are seeking donations to help us purchase a permanent home for our Children’s Heaven family. Thanks to a generous donation from our partner at Ethiopian Orphan Relief we have been able to grow and develop at our current residence in Addis Ababa; however, rent prices have risen dramatically in recent years and we are only able to afford our current home until December 9th 2011. In anticipation of this obstacle, Children’s Heaven has already located a plot of land—donated at low cost from Hanna’s siblings after the passing of their Father. This land is available for purchase, but with the budget of Children’s Heaven already stretched quite thin, we are, once again reaching out to our friends in order to make this dream a reality. A Letter from Executive Director, Hanna Fanta:
Dear Children’s Heaven Friends,
We are looking for partners to make a long term investment in Children’s Heaven—land.
This land will enable us to build a functional site in order to develop our programs for our services in a safe and secure environment. In addition, it will give us the confidence and the ability to increase our Children’s Heaven family as we are able to reach more orphans and their extended families.
Once we secure the land, our intention is to construct a new facility uniquely designed to match the needs of the Children’s Heaven family now and as we look toward the future. Again, this will permit us to reach a larger proportion of orphans in a more effective and stable way due to the security that stems from owning one’s own property. Since the onset, Children’s Heaven has rented various premises within the capital city of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa. The constraints of renting private homes, however, is a major expense and has meant that project development has always had an element of instability attached (this is especially true at present due to the dramatic rise in rent and lack of available facilities).
As many of you know, land in Addis is incredibly expensive and difficult to acquire. However, we have been able to negotiate an amazing deal on some land that belonged to my Father and was given to my siblings and me when our Father passed on. My siblings have generously agreed to sell the land to Children’s Heaven at a very low cost. That donated land, combined with my share of the land, is available for $70 per square meter (the market price for this land is $200.00 per square meter).
We would like to purchase 1000-2000 square meters for our growing Children’s Heaven family by this December 2011. Please think about partnering with us and helping us raise money for this land. Consider helping your niece of daughter and her friends raise money for a few square meters of land as a way to help her sisters in Ethiopia—it would be the best Christmas gift we could receive.

Grants
Grants made from charitable foundations and corporations help Children's Heaven to provide critical training for girls in our program to prepare them for gainful employment and productive adulthood. Previous grants from our partner Ethiopian Orphan Relief (EOR) have allowed us to secure rental property for our growing Children’s heaven family as well as provided us with the means to provide our girls daily with a healthy and nutrient rich meal through our Nutritious Meal Feeding Program as well as equip our own library.
Product Donation
 Children's Heaven accept product donations in form of school supplies, shoes, clothes, hygenic productsfor our girls and computers for our training program.
Volunteering
 We need and welcome volunteers in Ethiopia as well as outside Ethiopia. Volunteers are a vital part of our team and can take an active part in our programs including medical and dental care, psychological counseling, and teaching or tutoring English. If there’s a particular area you are interested in or have expertise in for example music or art, sports, or computer technology there will be ample opportunity for you to develop programs and work with our children. Become An Advocate
Lend your time and voice to help recruit more sponsors for girls on our waiting list, by encouraging your friends, church members, colleagues at work or family members to become sponsors, donors and partners.
